Someone had a problem with getting it too work, followed the steps in your post, but vBm looked in his logs and found that this command (which you do in Start>Run):

c:\Path to foobar\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe /regsvr:comserver2

helped ^^

Yeah, It's very important to register the server to the right path. If you launch foobar from several places with odd names ( like C:\progra~1\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe or C:\progra~1\foobar~1\foobar2000.exe instead of C:\program files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe ) it would be bad, since the COM server plugin registers to a specific location. Found that out after my keyboard hotkeys started working with odd paths.

I have a problem with the foobar support. I've just updated to the revision 3 and installed the com server for my foobar2k 0.91. Using mirc 6.16.

When I try to use the winamp status option, mirc gives me the following.

* $dll: unable to open 'C:\sysreset\addons\gts_fb2k.dll' (line 669, gtsdll.ini)

I've check to make sure that the path is valid as well as the file existing there. foobar says that the comserver is loaded in it's console.

I tried a fresh install of mirc 6.17 with gts and it was still giving the same message.

Hmm. Might be an issue with sysreset, I'm not sure. If the DLL is in the right place it should have no problem opening it.

I'll try making a fresh install with revision 3 myself and see if i can reproduce the problem.

Ok, I found out what was wrong... I was missing the .net Framework 2.0. After installing that, it's working fine. Might want to note this as you're building the dll with .net

There's some funky issue with VS2005 and the .NET requirement even for unmanaged c++ DLLs. Had to mess with the runtime library to get it to drop the .NET requirement.

In mIRC press ALT+O, go to Other -> Lock, and uncheck the checkbox next to Decode.

I'll rename the identifier in next release, to prevent that from happening again ^^

Looks like you need to mess with it some more, it doesn't work for other people now ... (it crashes Aoshi's mIRC for example)

I just noticed that even if i rename my alias, the $utfdecode provided by mirc still gets locked... (mIRC bug alert ;))

Well i guess i use my dll function then until there is a new mIRC version available that fixed it.

We've done pretty much anything we can do unicode wise right now, Considering mIRC's support and the user's own configuration (has X language support installed, codepages which are used for encoding, etc)
