Can't set settings
« on: May 01, 2008, 12:14:50 PM »
I get this message when I try to configure settings:

* /hadd: no such table 'GTSDll_settings' (line 983, gtsdll.ini)

I had put the GTS files in a folder called GTS within the folder mIRC in Application Data. The program mIRC is somewhere else.

Any help would be appreciated.

That usually happens when the installation didn't go so well.
Try removing\unloading GTSdll.ini, Restarting mIRC and then reloading\reinstalling GTSdll as instructed in the readme file.

I unloaded gts from mirc, deleted gts. Downloaded gts 1.2.7.3 again. Loaded it to mIRC 6.31. I did this several times, always with the same error message.

Any further ideas?

Thanks for your response, by the way :)

This is a clean mIRC 6.31, I suppose? Not some huge script like UPP\NNS\SysReset and such.
Take a look at mIRC's options, One of the last pages in the treelist contains options about locking mIRC and some of its features with a password. If any of the identifiers in that list are locked, try unlocking them (uncheck their marks) and see if that helps.

I don't have any other scripts running. I unchecked all lock options and i still get the same msg:

* /hadd: no such table 'GTSDll_settings' (line 983, gtsdll.ini)

Should I have a file GTSDll_settings in the first place? Because I haven't got that.

No, The GTSDll_settings is a variable that the script is supposed to create upon install. For some reason it fails to create it on your client. Did you notice any weird messages or errors in your status\network-log window?

I'll try asking GTS about it, and he might see this thread as well.

Usually doing a /hmake GTSdll_settings 100, reloading the script, and then loading a theme will fix this.

I am still clueless, why it fails to create the table sometimes ...

OK, I did what you said & I stopped getting the no table message, but I can't do anything on the settings. I tried to load a theme, but when I click ok, the settings screen disappears but nothing is done. I tried to do other things, but it won't let me. It's as though it's been deactivated or something. 'Browse' doesn't move. Whatever options I tried to change just gets ignored.

I think I'll just give up  :mad:
