Topic: Foobar2k asian character support and song position problems in gtsdll?

I looked around but couldn't find anything to help on these matters.. and I'm unsure if anything much can be done yet. (although I'm not that good at searching either.)

I use mirc 6.17 and have it set up to use unicode for asian languages, etc, using font Arial.  When I use the /aud with Foobar2k 0.8.3, or even 0.9.1, all the Japanese characters come out as ? marks... Typing out the asian characters in the "command line" of mirc works fine, and others can see the kanji fine too.. just that nothing happens when I try to use /aud with music having asian characters, is this just due to Foobar difficulties? because I've seen it work fine for winamp users.

The [plpos]/[pllen] tags for song X out of Song Total always shows 1/0 for Foobar, and has done so for quite some time.. was hoping there was a way to get Foobar to output that data correctly if that's what is the issue.. or for the Foobar spammer to include it... doing a dumpraw on the dll didn't provide me with any leads :/

Unicode with foobar is broken, don't know if its due to Winamp API Emulator or foobar itself, I know foobar's play list displays Unicode, but even if u use foobar's copy name(s) command and paste it into the edit box of mIRC, it will still show ?'s....

Altho the weird thing is, chaosblade can display is isreal unicode fonts fine :s

Also, if you go to the documents page, I do mention that foobar support is not as good as Winamp's, some commands will not work, including [plpos] [pllen]....nowt we can do untill v2 is released which will have proper foobar support

Israeli names here aren't exactly Unicode, as my computer's code page IS Hebrew.
About the playlist tags, The winamp API emulator currently doesn't return any kind of dynamic info, including elapsed time and playlist index\length.

mIRC on english or other language except asian windows can show asian characters?
I installed chinese windows, special for irc! because it doesnt show chinese characters on mIRC -.-"

Yeah... You need mIRC 6.17 though, and then you can use a font like Arial or Times New Roman and set it up to use utf-8, and it will display any language characters you want, from Arabic to Russian, and yeah, Hebrew too, with just that one font.

I'm sure you can figure out which parts of those you need... Left window is in View->Fonts and the Right window is in options.

Just set it, test it and it doesnt seem to be working hmmpfff

You need to have asian laguage support installed though. Otherwise windows won't know how to display em.

Same for Hebrew, Arabic, and the other complex script (and usually right to left) languages.

On a better side of news, I'm almost done with making foobar support a bit better for v1 for now (instead of cramming everything inside [title] like now, it will allow the use of all [tags] - save from three dynamic ones, time elapsed, playlist index and playlist length - I'm still working on those).
