This short how-to will guide you in setting up GTSdll to display stats for
µTorrent.First of all, A few notes about the mentioned support:
- µTorrent does not update its UI while minimized. That means the stats GTSdll displays will not update aswell until Torrent is restored. This MIGHT change in GTSdll v2, Should a different method to retrieve the stats be implemented.
- As µTorrent versions are released, The tool used to enable the support updates aswell. Since changes between versions are not compatible, And are frequent, We do NOT support older versions. If you have an issue, Always try upgrading to the latest version of µTorrent aswell as the config generator tool.
- µTorrent support only works on Windows with a western system locale (non asian, more or less). That is because in asian codepages like japanese the µ symbol changes into a kanji with the same ascii number, And that causes some faults with the current way GTSdll works.
Grab & Install the latest GTSdll. Also grab the latest µTorrent Config Generator Tool while you're at it ;]
Now follow these simple steps:
- Launch µTorrent. Setup the columns in whichever way you like them, i.e. change their order, enable\disable some, etc. Make sure to leave the Status column on as GTSdll needs it.
- Now shutdown µTorrent. Wait around 15 seconds to make sure µTorrent's process has shutdown aswell. This is needed because µTorrent saves its settings including column order and state only when shutdown.
- Run the config generator tool and make sure the results it displays are correct (number and order of columns, etc).
(utcfg.exe or utorrentconfig.exe)
- Load the generated .cfg file in GTSdll (either with the popup - settings dialog - or with the /gtsdllsettings command), Under the "Config File For Multi-BitTorrent Clients" box. Make sure Azureus Support is also unchecked.
- Make sure µTorrent is running and has at least one torrent running and try to display stats either using the popups or using the /btinfo command.
- Should be fine now. Enjoy! ^_^
NOTE: It does NOT matter where you put the .cfg file. Just make sure GTSdll is pointed to it.
NOTE 2: Right now, You will need to edit the .cfg file manually to get it to work with the latest versions. In the [apptitle] line, add an asterix (*) before the uTorrent string. i.e. [apptitle] *µTorrent*1.*)
